Truth be told, I had many false starts before I actually ever got on stage. I would diet and train for months, and at the very last minute, I would get nervous and withdraw. Picture yourself going through a full prep over and over again with nothing to show for it. Well, that was me.
After watching my first Bikini Contest as a spectator, I was hooked. But, I didn’t have the confidence to follow through with it. I had so many false starts before I ever actually got on stage. I would diet and train for months, and then at the last minute, I would get nervous and withdraw from the show. I am determined to help others avoid that problem. Here are 6 tips that will help you succeed in your first Bikini Competition.
1. Focus on your own individual progress. Don’t get distracted by other people you see online or in the gym.
2. Set a schedule for your meal prep and training (stick with it religiously)
3. Posing is critical and practice makes perfect
4. Your suit matters. Get a good competition suit
5. Enjoy the experience. Your time on stage is so brief compared to all the time you spent getting ready. Savor the moment.
6. Find an experienced coach who will invest the time required to get you ready.
