My goal is to inspire others through my pregnancy by doing everything in my control to deliver a healthy baby, remain fit as a mom, and recover postpartum to achieve my best fitness level yet. Who knows, maybe I will even grace the Bikini Competition Stage again.
Week 27 Update:
We are quickly approaching the end of the second trimester (wow, time flies). My baby girl now weighs about two pounds and is 15 inches long. She is as big as a head of lettuce. Experts say she can recognize my voice from every other person and she knows when her daddy (Ty) is talking to her.
My body has been going through a lot of changes. Some days I forget I have a big belly and get startled by a glance in the mirror. Literally just a few minutes ago I was like "wow girl, you are big." I guess I am still getting used to this watermelon in front of me. I do love how my body is changing through this amazing journey, it’s truly incredible what a woman’s body can do. My weight has shifted some, and I am now 144 pounds.
I recently moved my workouts to the pool. Swimming and water aerobics provide great cardio at a low impact. I had to make some adaptations because I’ve been experiencing some “growing pains.” I’m told they are perfectly normal during pregnancy. However, keeping physically active throughout pregnancy is pretty important so I do what I can. Admittedly, the change in my routine sometimes feels like I’m not doing very much. I guess everything is relative.
Here is a question for all you mothers out there. Did you experience any significant discomfort or growing pains in your pregnancy? And if so, what changes did you make to your exercise routine or activity during pregnancy to get around it? Please share.
